I have to give a shout out to one of my favourite sources of musical inspiration. The LuckyMe Mixtapes.
This site has given me some of my favourite mixes and always seems to find the most interesting and obscure artists to feature. A firm favourite of the site would definitely be Hudson Mohawke, who features there regularly and as usual, his mixes are a great, fun mix of genres and styles.
Currently I'm listening to the Respite mix (#73), but my favourites would have to be the Ben UFO (#62), Shortstuff (#55) and Jimmy Edgar (#51).
Sometimes accompanied with a tracklist, but mostly not and for my male friends, each mix always has a picture of a lovely lady as the download link.
Started in 2002 in Glasgow, LuckyMe are a label, art conglomerate and run parties with DJs such as Hudson Mohawke, Mike Slott, Rustie and others. I know if I'm over in sunny Scotland I'd be there in a heartbeat.
Get involved people, these mixtapes are seriously the business.
